Annie Hudson

I grew up on the Ridgeway, walking the chalk and flint countryside, experiencing the varied landscape of wide fields, steep woods and downs. After living in London and the West Country I relocated to Cumbria in 2001. The dramatic landscape of the Lake District, Northern England and Scotland is now my primary subject.

At the heart of my work is a love of drawing which influences my use of oils, combined media and mono print. Absorbing the powerful landscape on a daily basis informs my work, its ever-changing nature leading to continual discoveries of mark and colour.

I studied at the Royal Academy Schools, London, and have exhibited widely including the Mercer Gallery, Harrogate, the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, and the Lake Artists Society, Grasmere.
